ACL awarded QUALSHIP 21 for outstanding transatlantic performance

12. maj 2026

Atlantic Container Line (ACL) has once again been awarded the prestigious QUALSHIP 21 certification by the U.S. Coast Guard. The certification highlights ACL’s strong focus on safety, quality and operational reliability on the North Atlantic.

Atlantic Container Line (ACL) continues to set the standard for safe and reliable shipping across the North Atlantic. In 2026, the company has been awarded the QUALSHIP 21 certification by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for the second consecutive year. A distinction reserved for foreign‑flagged vessels demonstrating the highest levels of safety, quality and environmental responsibility.

All five of ACL’s multipurpose RORO vessels have achieved the certification. To qualify for QUALSHIP 21, a fleet must maintain a near‑spotless compliance record, including a three‑year average detention rate of less than one percent during port state and safety inspections. The certificate therefore serves as a trusted quality benchmark and provides cargo owners with added confidence that their goods are transported in accordance with, and often exceeding, international regulatory standards.

ACL operates a fixed weekly service connecting Northern Europe, Canada and the U.S. East Coast, with regular calls at ports including Hamburg, Antwerp, Liverpool, Halifax, New York, Baltimore and Norfolk. Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and volatility in global supply chains, ACL achieved a schedule reliability of 97% throughout 2026.

The ACL fleet is purpose‑built to handle a wide range of cargo types, including containers, vehicles, High & Heavy units and oversized project cargo. Combined with fixed sailing schedules and specialized vessel design, this provides customers with predictability and flexibility in one of the world’s most demanding trade corridors.
